Video: Why is Gerry Anderson so great?

By: Robert Weedon | Written: Wednesday 23rd March 2011

The first Image Dissectors visual article examines why Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation productions are perhaps the greatest children's programmes ever made. Written and presented by Simon Pitt, produced and edited by Robert Weedon.

In this short documentary you may also be able to detect examples of aspect ratio alteration, 2.35:1 mattes, "dark edging", and in its presentation it probably features some critical suggestions and almost certainly some gurning, especially from Robert. While the opening minute or so may not have made any casual consessions, we hope that had it been on the radio, it might have passed the car park test.
